The Belarusian’s pursuit of a maiden Wimbledon title ended in the semi-finals for a third time in her career, when she was beaten by 12th-seeded American Amanda Anisimova.
Anisimova reached her first-ever Grand Slam final, stunning the much-fancied Sabalenka with a 4-6 6-4, 6-4 victory on Centre Court.
