South Africa’s livestock sector plays a vital role in our economy and food security, but disease outbreaks like foot-and-mouth disease continue to pose serious challenges. Add to that a shortage of skilled professionals and uneven access to animal health services, especially in rural areas, and the situation becomes even more complex.
