Right now, with conflicts raging in places like Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan, questions about the laws of war are back in the headlines. Hospitals bombed, civilians caught in crossfire, prisoners of war and suddenly everyone is asking: Is that even legal?

That’s where the Geneva Conventions come in the global agreement that’s supposed to protect civilians, prisoners, and the wounded during war. But in modern warfare, with cyber-attacks and drone strikes, are these rules still working… or are they being ignored?
