Residents of the Tlokwe Municipality in North West have been requested to use water sparingly, as the local reservoirs at Vyfhoek, Ventersdorp, Ikageng and Eersterandjies are currently at low levels. All four reservoirs are between 35% and 76% capacity. Tlokwe City Council spokesperson Willie Maphosa appealed to all residents to use water solely for consumption and washing purposes in the meantime. He says the municipality is doing its best to keep up and continues to pump water in to ensure that pressure remains adequate.
