Zuma seeking convenient way to sort out Nkandla saga: DA

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says President Jacob Zuma is seeking a convenient way to sort out the Nkandla saga. Nearly two years after the Public Protector Thuli Madonsela released her report recommending that Zuma reimburse the state, the presidency last night announced that Zuma has agreed to pay back some of the money paid for for non-security related upgrades to his Nkandla homestead. The Presidency says Zuma made a proposal to the Registrar of the Constitutional Court that it order the Finance Minister and Auditor General to determine an appropriate amount to be refunded. The move comes ahead of a legal battle in the Constitutional Court next week between Zuma, the EFF and DA over the Nkandla saga. The DA's James Selfe says Zuma knows he acted unconstitutionally by ignoring Madonsela's recommendations.
