More than 80 000 households in the Free State will be visited by Statistics SA fieldworkers for the Community Survey 2016.
Fieldworkers started visiting selected households this week and will continue to do so until April 22.
The survey is the second largest information gathering exercise after the national census, which was last held in 2007.
Spokesperson for Stats SA in the Free State, Nthabiseng Chakela, says the survey will provide demographic and socio-economic data at municipal level to improve government planning.
