
Two MEC's axed as NW premier announces changes to cabinet

Two North West MECs were axed on Monday when premier Supra Mahumapelo announced his long-awaited cabinet reshuffle.
Education and Sports Development MEC Maphefo Matsemela and Community Safety and Transport Management MEC Gaoge Molapisi were dropped from the provincial executive council. A total of five changes were announced.
Matsemela was replaced by Sello Lehari and Molapisi by Mpho Motlhabane. Kgakgamatso Nkewu was appointed as the new Social Development MEC and Ontlametse Mochware is the new MEC for Arts and Culture.
Spokesperson for the premier, Brian Setswambung, says the main aim of the reshuffling is to strengthen the provincial executive council.
