Delegates from across the world bore witness to a moving ceremony during the opening of the 8th Brangus World Congress at the Black Mountain Hotel near Thaba Nchu in the Free State.
Brangus SA’s oldest member, Choppy Roberts, was given the honour of handing over the “Torch of Hope” to the breed society’s President Sias Booysen at the more than 5000km tour. Booysen says it was an extremely emotional moment:
Also on hand to take custodianship of the “flame” on behalf of brangus breeders across the world was International Brangus Breeders Association President Tommy Perkins.
