The curse of the defending champions continued yesterday with Germany losing their opening game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The Germans, who structure their either Bundesliga around sending their best possible team to the global showpiece every four years, were stunned 1-0 at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow courtesy of a 35th minute Hirving Lozano goal.
The five-time champions, Brazil, having things go their way either after having to settle for a 1-1 draw to Switzerland at the Rostov Arena. And let’s not talk about Lionel Messi’s missed penalty on Saturday which led to Argentina drawing 1-1 to Iceland in Group D.
Today it’s all about Group G which features Belgium, Panama, Tunisia and England.
