Lancefield says for younger South Africans making the move, it’s important to regularly review your tax position and consult a tax consultant, so that you are made aware of your options. Lancefield says Sars makes amendments to certain exemptions for expatriates quite regularly, so you need to make sure you’re keeping abreast of those changes, so that you don’t find yourself on the wrong side of the law.
