Digital terrestrial television in SA: the state of play

Loading player...
This podcast is a recording of a presentation and panel discussion facilitated by TechCentral editor Duncan McLeod and hosted by the South African Institute of Electrical Engineers on the state of digital terrestrial television (DTT) in South Africa. The event took place on Tuesday at the University of Pretoria. Specifically, the panellists - broadcasting industry experts Lynn Mansfield, Gerhard Petrick, Aldred Dreyer and William Stucke, all speaking in their personal capacities and not for the companies or institutions they represent - were asked to present on an ideal-world implementation of DTT in South Africa. Their presentations, and the panel discussion and audience Q&A that followed, provide great insight into the state of play in South Africa's long-delayed DTT migration plan and offer some answers about what can be done to fast-track the process at this very late stage. It's a great discussion. Don't miss it.
