Ella continues to learn to love the beautiful game of rugby at Loftus Versfeld, home to the Vodacom Bulls. And who better to teach her more about playing the bounce both on the field and off the field, than the experts themselves?
In the latest episode of Play On: Life Lessons from the Field, Ella learns more about techniques used in rugby with Vodacom Bulls flyhalf, Chris Smith.
Chris tells Ella that playing the bounce isn’t so much about being big and beefy but more about using your brain. He adds, “It’s more about the brains…maybe a little about the looks but mainly brains. We like to serve the team, make sure they score tries and that the team wins.”
For Chris, being able to adapt on the field means being able to have a vision and seeing where the players can take advantage of opportunities to score.
Chris and Ella discuss further about physical capabilities and technicalities on the field and the preparation that goes with it. “Sometimes you go into the week feeling underprepared, but sometimes you put in 10,000 hours of work, and your muscle memory kicks in. So, if you stick to the process…then you end up just playing the game and everything takes care of itself,” tells Chris.
So, whether it’s starting a home, making a family, tying the knot, landing that job or heading into retirement - let us, Ella and the Vodacom Bulls team, help you prepare for that transition by committing to love change!
